Our Philosophy:
The Center was created to offer support‚ counseling and education to members of
the community who face physical‚ emotional or spiritual challenges. Looking
through the lens of Jewish wisdom and tradition‚ the Center offers a variety of
services and programs to reduce isolation and promote a sense of connectedness.
Our programs are led by social workers‚ doctors‚ nurses‚ and spiritual leaders.
Some services will sustain members of the community who are facing bereavement‚
loss‚ or illness. Others will promote activities and kinship for people seeking
to strengthen and enrich their lives. Still others will extend comfort and a
helping hand to those in need. For some of us‚ the Jewish faith is a constant
source of support. Many others turn to Judaism when they seek comfort and
solace‚ and‚ sometimes when they are faced with life’s toughest questions. The
Jewish Health and Healing Center of JFS embraces these needs as part of the
essential quest for strength‚ faith‚ meaning and reconciliation.
