Perform a Mitzvah!

JFS Volunteer Opportunities

You can make a difference and become a part of a rewarding experience through the many volunteer opportunities at Jewish Family Services of Greenwich.  Specific volunteer opportunities depend on agency need and the volunteer's interest and time availability.

We provide training and ongoing support for all of our volunteers.

Supermaketing for Seniors

A program where volunteer shoppers do weekly grocery shopping for homebound seniors.

Designer's Exchange Plus Thrift Shop

JFS has opened a thrift shop located at 103 Mill Street in Greenwich (Byram).  The shop is open Tuesday through Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  We are always in need of volunteer to work at the shop.

Bikkur Cholim Program

This community-wide program provides Jewish spiritual comfort.  Volunteers will visit those who are sick in local hospitals, in nursing homes, and private residences.

Let's Do Lunch

We are always looking for good cooks or great assistants to help cook and/or serve lunch at our bi-monthly senior luncheons.

Free Taxi Service

An "as needed" service, volunteers help out by driving seniors around the Greenwich area.  Typical locations would be to and from a Monday discussion Group at JFS offices, senior luncheons, or doctor appointments.

"Handyman Can" Service

Yard work or simple home repairs for area seniors.  Adults or teens are needed to be on call.

Snow Angels

Shoveling snow for seniors.  A great family mitzvah activity.  We need people to be on call before the next snow arrives!

Refugee And Acculturation Program

Assist us in finding jobs and/or housing for newly arrived refugees.  These new immigrants also need help with English tutoring and local driving.
