DONOR ADVISED FUNDS (DAF)

Support JFS of Greenwich by making a grant from your existing Donor Advised Fund. A donor advised fund, or DAF, is like a charitable investment account for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations you care about. When you contribute cash, securities, or other assets to a donor advised fund, you are generally eligible to take an immediate tax deduction. Then those funds can be invested for tax-free growth, and you can recommend grants to virtually any IRS-qualified public charity. To make your donation by check have it sent to: JFS of Greenwich Development Department 67 Holly Hill Lane Greenwich, CT 06830 EIN: 06-1073590 To make your donation via ACH please call Beth Jabick at 203-622-1881, ext. 116 for wiring instructions.

IRA CHARITY ROLLOVER

Charitable gifts from retirement accounts can be made through Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs), allowing individuals aged 70½ or older to donate up to $111,000 directly from their IRA to eligible charities without incurring income tax on the distribution. This method not only supports charitable causes but also counts toward required minimum distributions (RMDs) for those 73 and older. It works well for those who do not itemize deductions on their tax return.

APPRECIATED SECURITIES

It’s easy to make a gift of appreciated securities. Benefits include: 1) A full, fair-market, income tax deduction; 2) Zero capital gains tax paid by the donor; 3) Zero capital gains tax paid by JFS. This means that the full value of the stock gift is put to work for JFS, while the donor avoids capital gains tax and earns a charitable income tax deduction. For instructions for transferring appreciated securities to JFS or more information, contact Beth Jabick at 203-622-1881, X116 or bjabick@jfsgreenwich.org.

Whether you are honoring the memory of a loved one, celebrating a new addition to your family, a milestone event, or recognizing a professional achievement, you can commemorate these special occasions with a tribute to JFS Greenwich. We will notify the honoree about your gift. as per your designation either via mail or email.

MATCHING GIFTS

Double your impact! With your employers Matching Gift program, you can very easily double your donation which allows us to impact even more lives. Many companies match employees’ charitable contributions, and your HR department will provide you with a form if that is the case.

GIVE AT WORK

Workplace giving programs allow employees to make regular donations to eligible charities through their company's payroll system. Employees may contribute a set amount per paycheck or make a one-time gift. How does workplace-giving work? You determine the charities you choose to support and pledge a tax-deductible donation amount. Your pledged donation amount is automatically deducted from payroll, offering a convenient means of giving—and the potential to make an even greater impact by year-round sustained giving, without losing the tax benefits of charitable giving.

LIFE INSURANCE

This type of gift is particularly popular with donors who have policies that are no longer needed to provide for their families. The gift is made by transferring ownership of a life insurance policy to JFS or simply changing the policy’s beneficiary designation to JFS for some or all of the policy’s proceeds.
